November 2, 2007 Gospel trio “The Ball Brothers” are back at Skyland Studios recording the first 3 songs of an upcoming Christmas sampler, produced by Darren Rust and the Ball Brothers to be released this Christmas. A full length CD is scheduled for 2008. THE BLENDERS WIN AN EMMY FOR MUSICAL COMPOSITION/ARRANGEMENT FOR “Wake Up with FOX 9 " TV SPOT! October 22, 2007 On the eve of their 10th anniversary Christmas/Holiday Soul Tour, The Blenders have added another prestigious award to their trophy case, an Emmy Award for their creative and vocal work on a catchy “Wake Up with Fox 9” television spot that has been running most of the year over Channel 9, the Minneapolis Fox affiliate. The Upper Midwest Chapter of the National Television Academy (NTA) awarded the pioneering “vocal band” the Emmy in the category of Musical Composition/Arrangement at the regional Emmy Awards held Saturday, October 20, in the Twin Cities. The spot was arranged and produced by group member Darren Rust at Skyland Studios. October 14, 2007 Salt Lake City based a cappella group, Eclipse has just finished a new CD mixed here at Skyland Studios. This is their first sacred a cappella project and is set to be released top of ’08. October 10, 2007 Singer Kevin Smith, a former member of the Minneapolis Jazz vocal quintet Voice Trek, recorded and mixed his first solo CD project here at Skyland Studios. Players in the studio here at Skyland include, Scott Pearson (Drums), Sonny Thompson (Bass), Tommy Barbarella (Keys), Dave Cleveland (Guitar),George Scott McKelvey (Guitar), Natalie Murphey (violin), as well as Voice Trek providing background vocals on one cut. Residing in San Francisco, California, Kevin is set to release his CD entitled “We All Bow Down” this fall. 10/9/07 Minneapolis based vocal group, Go Fish has just released a new kids CD entitled “Snazzy” which was recorded and mixed here at Skyland Studios, and produced by Darren Rust and Jamie Statema. The trio, consisting of members Jamie Statema, Jason Folkman, and Andy Selness released the CD today and is in stores now! 8/9/07 Gospel quartet, The Ball Brothers completed a new CD entitled, “Vocalized” here at Skyland Studios.
