Sam Hauge

I had the opportunity to produce two records with Fargo-area artist Sam Hauge, including his debut album Out of Isolation and the follow-up release Exit 9B.

Sam is a rare kind of artist who handles every aspect of his music himself, from writing to performance… like he literally played ALL the instruments and sang all the vocals! His sound pulls from pop-punk, metal, and melodic rock, with a strong rhythmic foundation that comes from his background as a drummer.

Across both records, we worked to shape a sound that balanced energy and clarity, making sure the mixes translated the intensity of his performances while still keeping the vocal hooks and harmonies front and center. The second record, Exit 9B, expanded stylistically, which gave us more room to explore dynamics, arrangement, and tone across a wider range of material.

Working with Sam was a great example of what can happen when an artist comes in with a clear vision and a strong work ethic. Both projects were about capturing that vision in a way that feels polished, cohesive, and ready for release.
