Skyland Studios is a private recording facility nestled in the rolling hills of Lakeville, Minnesota—a peaceful creative environment just 25 minutes south of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Removed from the noise and distraction of the city, the studio provides artists with a focused space designed for capturing inspired performances and producing world-class recordings.
Owned and operated by award-winning producer and engineer Darren Rust, Skyland Studios combines a relaxed, artist-friendly atmosphere with a carefully curated collection of high-end analog equipment. The studio features premium gear from industry leaders including API, Great River, Summit Audio, Universal Audio, Empirical Labs, and Vintech Audio, along with a selection of world-class tube microphones, boutique EQs, compressors, and microphone preamps chosen specifically for their musical character and sonic depth.
At the heart of the studio is an Avid Pro Tools HDX system paired with BURL Audio converters and the renowned BURL B32 Vancouver summing amplifier. This hybrid analog-digital workflow delivers the precision and flexibility of modern digital recording while preserving the warmth, punch, and depth associated with classic analog mixes.
From tracking and vocal production to mixing and mastering, every stage of the recording process at Skyland Studios is designed to serve the music.
